Procedure:
The portrait process begins with a discussion between the client and Rory Coyne to determine the size, composition and price of the portrait to be created. Questions of clothing, background and the location in which the portrait will ultimately be displayed are considered. A 40% non-refundable deposit is required upon contract signing.
Rory Coyne then travels to the client's office, home or other location of the client's choosing. Some preliminary sketches will be created and photographs will be taken of the subject.
After returning to his studio, Rory Coyne creates a small digital color study indicating the intended composition and final dimensions, and shares this with the client for approval. This allows for the client to preview what the portrait will look like and creates an opportunity for the client to offer final comments before the painting begins.
Upon completion of the portrait it will be presented to the client for approval. The time required for the process of the portrait commission varies, depending on the artist’s and sitter’s schedule. Rory Coyne will work with you to not only make this process proceed smoothly but pleasantly as well.
Pricing:
Pricing is based on single life size figures and an extra 50% will be added per additional person. Prices can also vary depending on the complexity of the background and clothing of the sitter.
Children:
Head and Shoulders: $1500
Three-quarter length: $3000
Full figure: $5000
Prices do not include travel costs, taxes or framing. Rory Coyne can upon request suggest the right frame to fit the piece as well as work with the location where it will be shown.
